A collaboration with Joseph Harris and Gierre Godley. Go Inward aims to address the passive racism within our communities while allowing the individual to reflect on their involuntary systemic prejudices/judgements. Performers, fifteen people of varying ethnicities, sit in public spaces with a broken mirror mask covering their faces and an empty chair across from them. The silent performance is offering a passerby a chance of self reflection. Created during the height of the BLM protests in the summer of 2020, we encourage people to look at judgements and perceptions, the obvious and subconscious, in the hope to create empathy, awareness, and seeing ourselves in our neighbors.
